As our production designer, Marilyn brings a youthful, unique creative vibe to the design team. We think you’ll love to get to know her a little bit better, so read on!
How did your mom’s artwork and creativity influence you?
Growing up, my mom had me and my sisters do a lot of little art projects – to keep us distracted! We all wound up artistic in one way or another.
What was your favorite concert and artist of the past year?
I go to a lot of concerts! I like going to house shows in peoples’ homes to hear local groups. I’ve also seen Jay Som a bunch of times and love her stuff. I actually talked to Jay Som after her show at Great Scott. It’s just a bar and a stage, so it’s easy to meet the artists.
What are some of your favorite pastimes?
I binge-watch a lot of TV shows. My favorite is “The Legend of Korra,” which is a sequel to “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” a kids’ show (laughing).
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you want?
I’d like a boat with a full tank of gas, a cell phone or radio, and full wifi access!
What was your most memorable design project at MORE?
Notoriety-wise, the work I did for the Make the Right Call campaign, with the arm laying on the floor, got the most attention. A lot of my friends told me they saw it around town.
